You will get it as long as they charged you credit card. It's just a matter of time. I will arrange another party when I'm able to access e-CAS; So you didn't miss alot ;D

I think it doesn't. CIC clearly mentions that applicants don't need to be working after filing their applications.

Around 24 days. One application was received on 24/03/2014 and returned on 16/04/2014 if I'm not mistaken.
