It was the trend not the promise. Immigration policies are subject to the whims of those in power. What we can do is adjust accordingly. Try ways to increase scores (Retake Ielts, Learn French, Get a PNP/LMIA). Thats action that will get results. Sulking over changes wont get you anywhere.

You are 36 right now. After your diploma you will be 37. You will still need to make an EE profile where you ll lose points due to age. Do a check on your CRS score at 37 age. How much does it become. If its below 450 this approach will only cost you money and wont bring any results.

Make sure everything adds up. If you have bills in Jan but you are claiming Feb it will be a huge task to explain. So better make a thorough check before submitting.

Stay conservative. Stick to something that wont raise red flags or questions. If you feel 3 months cannot be justified better not mention them and avoid issues later.
