Have you asked a letter from your employer (any specific format)? I am planning to go to India in December and come back in Jan. I recently received the extended Work permit and visa.

Got my WP extension approved today without Bio-metrics. It looks like IRCC has restarted processing. On 11th March 2020, My employer applied the WP extension for me and Visitor extension for my wife. I also applied for my wife's SOWP on 25th April 2020. Her application also got approved today...

Have you provided your biometric earlier? Is your application for fresh WP or Extension? My Extension application was submitted by my employer. I am not able to see the updates on my application as my application is linked to employer CIC account. My employer sent me the BIL separately.
