No the background check is different from the eligibility requirements. Background check/security check is a whole different process of its own

No the principle applicant has not worked for the government, and no military service either. and your right, those type of jobs do lead to extensive background checks.

No long travel history. The applicant has only resided in Pakistan and UK. Also there are absolutely no red flags at all.

I didn’t even think background check would take so much time for me, especially when our eligibility is already approved (received pre arrival letter). It’s really frustrating. I heard it’s supposed to take 3-5 months but it’s been longer than that for me. Hoping for it to end soon

Why was your husband’s background check so extensive ? If you don’t mind sharing, what lead to such an extensive background check ? I understand he had to do a 3rd medical because his previous ones were expired but that’s just too much.

Yes most cases do get through without them having to ask for updated PCC. I’m not sure about your background check though, it might not be extensive hopefully.

Actually they do ask for updated police clearance certificates sometimes, when they get expired. Since your an october applicant your case still has some time so it’s normal for them to ask. Has your background check started yet ?

If there still reviewing your eligibility requirements, it means you haven’t received your pre arrival email yet so you should expect to get that next. Your background check also hasn’t started yet, it’ll start after your eligibility has passed.

It definitely looks like the female applicants are getting through quicker with their applications. Even their background checks are done faster. It was confirmed in another canadian immigration website .
