May 2012 Applicants - JOIN HERE!

This is beyond ridiculous. At this point at least 10 early June applicants got their AOR's. We're at day 84. CIC is apparently working on April 30 with Step 1 being done at an average of 86 days. This is absolutely unfair that we didn't even get AOR's, while some ppl got their AOR's after 30...

May 2012 Applicants - JOIN HERE!

This is much worse than any form of torture.. This is so unfair to everyone who applied in late April/early May. Luckily, I'm with my spouse overseas. I can only imagine feelings of all the people who are separated from their loved ones and are going through this ordeal.

Another day of frustration... this is getting worse. I never wanted spam mail more in my life ever... and I hate spam. Not that many approvals came in this week... let's hope for the best on Friday.

    Photocopies of pictures

Send pictures, no photocopies of any kind. You should have your pics in digital format anyway (those are your wedding pics), just do an extra set of prints and send them along with your application. I sent around 70 of them, mix of wedding, reception, and different outings with friends. Put an...

    Application processing times

Patience is a virtue... processing times have exponentially increased in the past 6 months or so. We are all in the same boat, but it would be nice if CIC decided to send timely AOR's... we'll just have to sit and wait. Good luck.

    Sponsorship package returned!!!! Some advice

Sorry to hear for your trouble. I've sent mine on May 3 as well and have not heard anything back yet. I also checked 'my' versions of the documents that you mentioned and they are identical to what CIC requires. It is unfortunate that some people are having issues with versions of forms after...

    Cyrillic Translation to English

@WYWH Thank you very much for your reply. It is difficult indeed not to pay attention to all those tiny details. There is always that fear that the whole process might be delayed, but sometimes you just can't help it. Thank you for your wishes as well. Cheers.

    Cyrillic Translation to English

I am wrapping up my paperwork for spousal sponsorship. However, I haven't been able to find an answer to my question. How is the court translator suppose to translate character 'ć' to English (for those unfamiliar with it, it's pronounced 'ch' - "vić" is equivalent to "vich"? Should he just...

Spousal Sponsorship - Outland / residing in spouse's country

Re: Spousal Sponsorship Thanks for your swift reply. I'm an IT consultant and have been working on contracts for the past 7 years so I don't have a FT job. I do have assets (mutual funds, TFSA's, RRSP's), own 2 properties (along with mortgages on both of them), have few bank accounts, own a...

Spousal Sponsorship - Outland / residing in spouse's country

A total newbie here... I went through the forum quite a bit, but haven't been able to find an answer for my concern. I'm Canadian citizen and have been residing in Canada for nearly 20 years. I have met a girl in Serbia 4 months ago who I fell in love with and would like to sponsor her so that...
