Anyone want to join a thread for people applying in the near future?

Hey y'all! :D We plan to submit in may - we're gettin married next week! ;D I'm from eastern Europe and we'll apply outland through Quebec (yay... additional waiting ::) ) For sure i`ll have loads of questions about completing all the forms and about the proofs. I envy you people that are...

Do I have to write n/a for non applicable fields?

    1. one thing i know for sure, you don't have to print the forms that don't apply to you. 2. if the area greys out (after you checked a box) , you leave the field blank. N/A usually applies to other fields, for example when they ask you for your alternate names (aliases).. if you changed your...

yeah i wasn't sure whether if it's a continuous cohabitation for 12 months or gaps are actually allowed. thank you for correcting me.

    Spousal sponsorship

Macchiato even if you have a 5 month gap , you have a total of 12 months of living together, i think you qualify for sponsorship under common law.. but "veteran" users surely know more about the subject. ;)

Evidence and Organizing (US Citizen married to a Canadian Citizen)

Rob_TO are those stuff really necessary? we don't have any of that either .. :o i thought that what we have is enough .. both our families attended the wedding + many photos , skype & facebook conversations, many photos in general, some boarding passes + email confirmations for hotels, planes...

    Spousal sponsorship

yeah, you have to do a lot of proving. obtaining a goddamn canadian visa is harder than getting a private meeting with the president :P sometimes i think they're crazy, the CIC folks. i don't blame them though, for sure they have loads of people that try to cheat the system and so on. i hope...

    Spousal sponsorship

savinca i guess you should be prepared for a refusal of the TRV even after you apply for sponsorship. After applying for PR, CIC knows for sure that your wife wants to move permanently to Canada. By all means, try, but get your wife to submit as much proof as possible (ties to her home...

well that can be a problem :( not sure if they'd approve her without a job and a propriety.. i do have to ask though: where does she stay in Romania? if she stays with her family, she can arrange that her name also appears on the ownership documents if i'm not mistaking.

    Spousal sponsorship

i have a question regarding this: you can pay RPRF also when you submit your application to CPC-M, right? not necessary only when they request you to.

well people can get TRV's without invitation letters, not everyone is going to Canada to visit friends/family. you can write a letter as a "friend" but it doesn't seem very reliable, i don't know.. she can say she's just traveling, but alone.. ? if she's traveling she needs to have a return...

yeah i understand... well then probably that's the best way for you, just don't drop 4000 CAD all of a sudden in her account :P and about the 3 month history thing, i remember that but i`m not 100% sure. but yeah 4000 CAD seems a good sum. by the way if her TRV gets rejected (i hope not!)...

    Romanian Timeline - In Process

ghatot201 not sure if it's a good idea to transfer a lot of money to her bank account for this, one of the requested documents for the TRV is a transaction history of her bank account .. i think for the last 3 months? they will get suspicious if they see large sums of money transferred like...

    Romanian Timeline - In Process

i hope she'll accept, good luck to you! :) as for the visitor visa.. there are slim chances if her husband/boyfriend lives in Canada, the VO will consider you as her strongest family tie. if she has a stable job here, a house, family and all that maybe it could work.. wouldn't bet on it...

computergeek i also read somewhere around here about people that never got notifications via e-mail from CIC - mainly because their e-mail was mispelled.. what do you think should be done in this case?
