    ROME OFFICE

CoRP just came with the mail. It is actually a bit anti-climatic. The PPR was the most exciting part for me. @ Belle - the CoRP isn't pretty! We just got two legal sized papers with some printing. It is actually kind of boring. Is it the counterfoil in the passport that is the pretty...

In which stage are we ? PLEASE HELP!

Unfortunately Vienna tends to stick very close to the posted times. A lot of people in the "Family Sponsorship" forum - Vienna thread have been waiting quite awhile. Very few cases seem to be processed quicker than the posted time unlike some other visa offices. Hang in there though.

Travel to Canada possible during spousal sponsorship application?

Yes, he could come visit you for long periods of time. He can also apply for an extension of his visitor status online. Although the posted time is one year, many applications are finalized before then. Check out the thread on here for your visa office (Sydney I think). There should be a...

I AM IN MAJOR CRISIS, PLEASE HELP?

There are more senior members who might know more than I do. I do know there isn't another way for her to sponsor you. It is as a spouse or nothing - you can't sponsor friends. I do also think fraud is something to worry about. Someone could report you. Or if you move on and either of you...

Long Distance Romances to Common Law Spouses

I do not speak from experience but from reading the forum I know that: Many couples establish common law but coming on a visitor visa and extending it online. You can't work or study, but it can be difficult to get a work visa and expensive to study in Canada as a foreign student. However...

I AM IN MAJOR CRISIS, PLEASE HELP?

Please take some time to deal with the end of your relationship before stressing about PR. Everything seems overwhelming right now, but give it time. Also, know that there are many numbers you can call if you feel distressed. Here is a list of numbers you can call in Toronto (where your...

    ROME OFFICE

Slowly. We already moved out of our apartment in Berlin, so most of the big stuff is done. I need to grab a couple gifts for family members, arrange to ship a car and pack but pretty much most of it is done. I'm leaving in 2.5 weeks but my partner will follow 6 weeks later.

    ROME OFFICE

I don't know how long Rome takes to respond but I would give them at least a couple days. It is good that you are able to get the police certificate so quickly. Don't stress, they probably overlooked this one document - when we got our PPR it said they are in the final stages of review. So...

I'm not sure, I think you should ask more senior members. Your Italian right? If so, they don't put a visa in your passport, they give you a sheet (CoRP) that you have to show at the airport. So if you don't show your CoRP, maybe you can just come as a visitor. I'm not sure, but it is worth...

OHIP is Ontario health insurance. Well, if you did your medicals in April, you will probably have until then to "land". I'm not sure, but make a new post in the general family sponsorship forum so more senior members can respond. But maybe you can just come and go as a visitor until you are...

Hmmm that is strange. I would email them, tell them why you are confused but also say that you are in the process of obtaining a new police certificate and will send it as soon as you receive it.

What documents do you mean? For example, you can get your SIN number right away (and without any problems as far as I know - even if you travel back to Italy). However, to qualify for OHIP, you must LIVE there for 3 months. So I wouldn't land, start the clock for OHIP, go back to Italy for an...

Canadian (Quebec) citizen and British common-law spouse

I'm not sure what the inland office is - but your best bet is to apply outland. It has a posted time of 11 months, plus the time for sponsor approval - but check out the London thread, it usually moves much faster. But yes, you would be several months - 12 months + another 5 or 6 without being...

    ROME OFFICE

I don't think it has anything to do with you living in Rome. If I was in your shoes, I would be telling myself it is because I put together a quality, easy to understand application and give myself a pat on the back. :) Chances are your deadline to land in Canada will be 1 year from the date...

Canadian (Quebec) citizen and British common-law spouse

I'm a bit confused about your post, but I think you are a bit confused as well. - You are only considered a "common law spouse" if you have lived together continuously for 365 days. - Once you are common law, your partner can sponsor you for permanent residency (so it will be at least a year...

    ROME OFFICE

Rome has really picked up the pace... Based on the spreadsheet, you should be getting a passport request in about a month's time. And you most likely won't have to go for an interview. So I guess it means you should start applying for jobs in Canada!

I don't know. Personally, I would try not to bother them unless it is an emergency, etc. Also, I'm sure it takes them awhile to answer emails and by then they might be mailing your passport back to you. I would just wait, you are close to the end. @ belle - are there government funded French...

Just checked, it is still "In Process" I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but now it also says medical results received, I think it happened around our PPR.
