Only speaking from my expirience, I sent it in up front and it said right away that medical is received. So not sure? I would email and ask. Just to be safe. But I also wouldn't email until the perm residency part says in process, and the processing date as to when it started.

What is the FYI processing start date on the spread sheet? What does that mean? Also just wanted to add our sponsorship approval was November 5,2015. And application now says in process, medical received and we started processing "his name" application November 12, 2015. Not sure if that has to...

Ok thanks! I have sent everything in, they shouldn't have to request a thing. Also paid all the fees upfront. Just getting so impatient.... I know not hearing something from them is a good sign,can't wait to get our notes at the end of the month. Hope there's some info in there

Ok thank you to all who replied. Some people had said 6 months some 9 and some a year so just wanted to be sure. That makes me feel better it's not just 6 months.

The total time to process and Outland application now is 17 months. That includes the sponsorship approval part. Which is 61 days or so. So 15 months from when the Visa office receives it is when you should have a decision as long as everything goes smoothly, could be sooner could be later

What happens if after the initial review, there are no documents or anything to be requested, does that mean they go directly to the next step, or that means that there's still another two months or so before they look at the application again?

I believe the page that goes on the front of the application, the table of contents states that those pictures have to be in it, in order to have a completed application.

I have added info to my application through email and they have emailed me back and said thank you for the information and it has been added to the file. Wasn't just an automated response I got. So sometimes they do write back personally.

Agreed! Lol. On the CIC website it also says that applications are now being sent where they will be processed the quickest, so rather than by country of origin they're sending them around where they'll get processed quicker so they're not necessarily where they say they are, so some that are...

I believe you can put in the email you would like them sent to. Just be sure to fill out the consent to release information to you form, and have him sign. That is necessary since its him the notes are being requested for and about
