you need one year of work experience. better real experience than RA/TA but that may work if you can prove employment during a continuous period of time. No one know how long it will take to process. I guess the same as other classes. join us here...

Two other applicants had similar problems. The tic marks will probably not affect your application, but who knows. If I were you I would print a new checklist. Can you post when you got your application back and when you reapplied?

Are teaching assistant and research assistant are considered as work experiences

No one knows for sure. We suspect it can be considered if you Taught continuously for 2 years without interruptions. If you didn't teach during spring and summer, it may (and probably will) not work because they require continuous experience See our discussions on the Phd Forum...

You should have your application processed this week. No one really know what is really going on on CIC. Some people that applied in November 9 got their application cashed 2 months later. Other got them in 4 or 5 weeks. About the work experience, no one really know how that is going to work...

asbereth, I agree with you. What I meant there was actually full time studies with part time work. Which we know it is possible but may create confusion in the VO mind. My discontentment is with the lack of clear regulations with this respect in the CIC documentation and guidelines and with...

I agree with most of what you said. However, I honestly believe that this is a loophole in their rules that they are probably aware of. In my opinion, RA/TA may not be counted as work experience By some of the VISA OFICCERS exactly because its is not clearly stated how this "work" thing is...

TO make it crystal clear. As of OP-12 - STUDENTS, page 19, found via FW-1 Guidelines http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/fw/index.asp Definition of “on-campus” work (...) YET, I could not find anything with respect to limitation in the amount of work done per week, as of...

Unfortunately there is not published regulation for the PhD class so far, so everything to this point is pure speculation. They should be updating the OP-6 soon. As far as I know, as of UWaterloo faq: http://www.gsa.uwaterloo.ca/resources/grs-faq/ What I believe is similar regulation to most...

There is no requirement that you have been doing you PhD on a continuous period of time, only that you are in your starting or beyond your third year. The only continuous requirement is the one year of work experience needed. They will probably notice that you have been enrolled since 2009 and...

if you have such an award, read the terms and see what kind of things they are requiring. I have a friend that can't apply because the term states that she has to go back to her home country and work for 5 years there. This is the kind of requirement for people that get FULLBRIGHT scholarships...

There is no problems in applying for both, but you have to pay two application fees. If I were you, and IF I was SURE, that I would qualify for the Canadian Experience Class, I would apply for the CEC, because it seems to be the fastest class so far, and as far as I know, there is not cap...
