They do mean that they are looking at your profile and sometimes change of status from IP1 to IP2.

There are many factors towards PPR timeline. It depends upon Country of Residence, Country of Origin, time for background verification, travel history and if you have stayed in any of the conflict countries and Russian fed it is going to take longer

They are processing your application, you might receive PPR in a months time.

I just noticed status as Application/ Profile Updated v/s Submitted on the Express Entry Application. When i clicked in i saw IP2. Once you check that your application status will be back to Submitted.

I dont think so. It is purely based on the time elapsed and the recent activity on the case. Some have the following message that is when your application has any recent updates: We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more...

You see first status if everything is lined up and working according to the timeline. Second status is for someone who have recently uploaded documents or if there is any change in the application that needs attention either from applicant or CIC
