    An update on this (old) posts. Just for reference if anyone need it. It took four almost months before I got the approval, by then I had actually gone over my three month extention but as long as it is being processed you can stay. I Canada before it ran out.

    You are of course correct, the final decision is made at the port of entry by a border control officer. But since I'm going back for a firends wedding and not to actually live here it should be no problem.
