Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Yes, it's Kit A. Residents (or future residents) of Québec do not need to meet ANY financial requirements if they're only sponsoring a partner. You're just signing an undertaking - you're basically saying you'll be responsible for the principal applicant financially for the next 3 years. If...

Yes, in the guide, there is a handy Checklist (which you have to send with the application anyway). You send these (with the payment) to MIDI. Then, you will receive your CSQ. In theory, you don't have to do anything else, as the MIDI will forward their decision to CIC. In some rare instances...

Welcome! We have a very similar timeline. Fingers crossed it moves soon...

Thank you both! I'll make sure I get this done. One last thing: do the sponsor AND the principal applicant need to notify separately, or will one email suffice (we're both at the same address).

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Hey everyone! Might be a silly question, but just checking. We've just moved house (still in the UK, just different address) and I want to notify CIC. Looking on their website it says to notify the embassy or high commission for our region (ie: London). By contrast, our SA letter indicates that...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

So far, it's crickets from Ottawa for us (where our app got transferred from London as part of the pilot-project). However, if you follow the London Outland Applicant thread, there was a little bit of movement last week. So here's hoping!

Hi ESM, Yes, in theory, the CSQ is automatically sent to the federal authorities. However, it happens (and it seems to be more often than it was) that they ask for a copy from us. Also, if you don't mind me asking, did they ask you to send the form to your Immigration officer's "personalized"...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

I am curious. I've seen a lot of people ordering their GMCS notes to see how far along their application is, etc. In some cases, it seems to activate some movement. Obviously, our application is still well within the normal processing time. But I was wondering when the ideal time is to order...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Update for Quebec applicants, we have just received our CSQ by mail today. It had been issued on Dec 4th. That's a really quick turnaround, since they only received our application on Nov 28th. Hope this gives a bit of hope to other Quebec applicants!

Update on our application: We received our CSQ (Québec selection certificate) today! It had been issued on 4/12 and got sent to London via snail mail. It was really quick, since they had received our application on Nov 28. Now hoping to go In Process soon... :)

Anyone getting processed in Ottawa have good news? Looking at the spreadsheet, there doesn't seem to have been much movement there in the last month or two...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

We also got conflicting information. We were asked to send an additional form (not an updated version, just one that was missing from our application). Even though we were told that our application would be 'received' from the day it is complete (aka the day the received the additional form)...

First, make sure to check the sponsor's spam (if you provided an email address) as our SA ended up there initially. If you still haven't received it, I strongly suggest you give them a call. There have been a few cases lately of applicants who haven't been notified about SA and found out it...

You are absolutely right. This year, I had to apply for a spousal visa here in the UK (while my husband is finishing his PhD, before we move back to Canada). The process was A LOT more complicated. The questionnaires aren't straightforward, the financial requirements are very hard to meet...

I completely agree. And it is true that we've all wondered what the chances are of being rejected (even with a straightforward application). I do think IF he is rejected, then it makes sense to take him off (or separately) to avoid skewing the "trend", but in the meantime, I'm not sure I...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Yeah... I don't know how we forgot it. I definitely don't remember making a conscious decision to NOT include it. But you know how it gets when you fill those forms, your brain ends up melting at some points. ??? Glad it's all done! Btw, if there are any other Québec applicants out there, we...

Actually, they weren't "additional" documents as much as a form that had been left out of the original application: IMM5406

I have been looking at the spreadsheet and noticed there isn't a column for CSQ timeline. I know there aren't that many Québec applicants, but can anyone tell me anything about the MIDI part of the application might impact our timeline? Thank you!
