Maybe you could call CIC and ask to cancel both applications and then go to north portal on a day off to get your work visa. Takes about 15 minutes to get your work permit there. That's what I did and most other people who were on a time crunch. I don't know if you could go there without trouble...

There is no general rule. Some people had to submit more information and it took months after and in some cases they got the nomination soon after. Did you apply before or after the changes? If before than your employer will get a phone call before you get your nomination. And there as well are...

did you apply in work permit category under skilled worker? If yes they might get it through on time if not than it can take a while. Too bad your MLA couldn't help. Sorry to say that but I don't think that you can do anything if your nomination doesn't come through soon.

No its not. It depends on the visa office. Ottawa is 11 months and London, UK for example more than 20. In my letter with my MR they wrote with receiving of this letter (MR) it will be 10 months to complete the PR process. So fall/winter next year it should be done.

wockamit got MR before me. I got the MR at 5:09pm by email but the AOR on Monday came at 9:36pm by email so they either work long or send all emails at once.

That's why I kept talking about work permit and tried to find out what letter he got and if it is for a work permit. I never got a reply to that. I am talking about work permits and how to get them and not visa.
