Somebody, please help, I'm at the end of my rope!

Ok, let's work our way through your question #1: For question #3 on the IMM 0008 form, the correct answer would be 1, NOT 2, if he is the ONLY person that is applying. YOu do not include yourself because you are the sponsor. You ARE included (by default) in the IMM 5481 form because the...

Somebody, please help, I'm at the end of my rope!

Hi zimbub, I will answer in pieces, so that I don't lose my train of thought too much...I will help you as best as I can but please don't take everything I say as gospel because everyone's situation is different. I want to address this comment first: I don't believe it quite works this...

Police Certificate, Medical Exam: expiration, when to send?

My wife extended her status for about 4-6 months each time, for a good 5 times during her stay with me. It was never an issue. Every time I simply explained hat we were either a. determining if we wished to get married, b. preparing to get married, c. getting married but waiting for an updated...

IMM 0008 - LAST ENTRY TO CANADA

Because I love mysteries, I had to try for myself....it seems that if you specify any other country than "Canada" in Question 10 it greys out question 11's fields. I guess the logic is that there's no assumption that an applicant EVER entered Canada if they're not there already.

    US police certificate

I don't think they will FedEx it back to you, they will send the Police Check back to you via regular mail on their own expense, wherever you specify the address as. (at least, they mailed ours back to us in Canada with a SASE).

    POSITIVE IMMIGRATION STORY

Your story actually parallels mine (and, more specifically, my wife's)...she is American and had been living with me since March 2010. We were married in August 2011 and we FINALLY got around to doing the outland PR application in March 2013. And yes, it's been tough for her too...sitting around...

    Medical

Hi MrD, Yes you can :) Just visit any of the CIC panel doctors and bring what they require (usually 4 photos and your ID, but contact them to be sure).

A photocopy would be sufficient unless it explicitly tells you to send the original. The police check, for example, requires the original.

    November spreadsheet ?

Hi Jimmykitty, Since my wife came from a visa-exempt country we didn't really have any issues...I try to stay away from commenting too much on issues where TRVs are required because I don't really have experience there, although many on this forum would be able to guide you better. From what I...

    Medical

Medical results are good for one year after issue. As long as your appointment with a CIC Panel physician (the list is on their website), you should be fine if you're sending in the application soon after.

Feeling Overwhelmed - Outland or Inland

As a sponsor you may not be eligible if you were in prison, or had ever been convicted of a violent criminal offence, but you would not be asked for your criminal check unless the answer was "yes" to either of those questions. I won't say NEVER required because each case is unique -- but it's...

Outland Application from Within Canada? Who has done it?

If possible -- get her fingerprints done digitally. The RCMP accepts digital fingerprints for submission within Canada...and you'll get your result back in about a week.

Feeling Overwhelmed - Outland or Inland

Just to clarify, it is your spouse that is getting the police reports, and it is her location at every point since she was 18 that matters :) If she was only there for a couple of months, she wouldn't need a police report from them -- only for every country she spent at least 6 months in. As...

I can't really say...did you not provide one up-front with your application?

Outland Application from Within Canada? Who has done it?

Also, you said your spouse has been living with you for 3 years in Canada...so be sure to add an RCMP check to that list! I was asked to provide one during the process. Here are the instructions.

    November spreadsheet ?

It's totally do-able :) My wife just got her PR two weeks ago after applying outland, while staying with me in Canada legally as a visitor for the last three years. As long as the applicant maintains legal status in Canada (visitor status can be extended) it's not a problem at all. Just make...
