Citizenship Application - Unemployed and Self-employed

For my period of unemployment I wrote N/A for the name of employer and my home address under the employer address field. When you are not working or freelancing/self-employed you will still be doing it from some location. Just write that location for the address. That's what I did and I have...

    May 2019 Citizenship Application

    NATO SECRET LEVEL JOBS

Yes government/military jobs are a completely different beast altogether... You can absolutely gain a job in defense with PR. The issue is the security clearance. I truly believe, from what I have personally experienced, that being out of the country within the last 5 years (reliability level...

    April 2019 applications

Sounds like we are at a similar stage. I called about my address but also asked which office my application is assigned to. I was told that my application is down for BC but has not yet been assigned to either the Vancouver office or the Surrey office. My application is still in Sydney...

    NATO SECRET LEVEL JOBS

Yes I agree you can be a PR, but being out of the country would appear to add complications to gaining clearance. From my experience of rejected defense company interviews, I would say that they are not willing to wait for an out-of-country verification. Not being within Canada for the minimum...

    NATO SECRET LEVEL JOBS

Hi there, I am a PR of Canada, currently applying for citizenship. I used to work in defense in the UK and held secret level clearance. These companies do hire PR holders but the problem is the security clearance. I was told by one company that I have to reside in Canada for 5 years to gain...

    April 2019 applications

Ok so only AOR confirms if the application is complete, not ECAS. Makes sense as I have read before that ECAS can be quite unreliable... I wish you both luck with receiving your AOR's. Perhaps due to the delays, you will have speedy background checks!

    April 2019 applications

Did you mention that you have ECAS showing 'application received' ? If so, I would be extremely surprised if IRCC sends your application back AFTER it is in their system as received.

    April 2019 applications

    March - 2019 Citizenship Applications

You do not need to inform IRCC about a job change. I was working when I applied for citizenship and I am not working now. IRCC will address any employment questions during the interview stage if necessary

    late filing taxes and citizenship!

No I do not think it will affect your application. My application is very similar. I filed 2018 on time, but filed all of the other years in 2017. I have received AOR and have read on this forum that others have been granted citizenship and filed taxes late. The requirement is to file, not to...
