My IEC expired and i used the lmia process as the reason for why i am changing over to a visitor. It came through no problems. Not sure if this is what you're asking?

Figured i would chime in and let you know that getting frustrated about the whole process is the worst. Just sit back, try and enjoy life and the lmia will come soon enough.

Having a lawyer doesn't speed the process up at all. Your naivety will eat you inside if you try and be that optimistic about the process. Sorry but expect a few months wait at least.

Have your kompass account set up and ready and your police certificate, passport photos. Cant do much else, its a free for all.

Expect to hear something in early january. They may contact your employer before then to ask routine questions and they will take payment and issue you a file number. Cannot see a decision being made until january though.

So they make you give up and go home and allow Canadians to be employed.

How unfortunate, i can only begin to imagine how you are feeling. Seems the whole TFW is causing quite a stir in whistler and banff and the tourist resorts, employers unable to fill positions, perhaps they will loose the reigns over the next coming months.

But what if you pay full fees and the SOP lets you down? surely you will lose all that money no? Can you not prove that you have the funds for both years? would that not count?
