Hi CLS, No, I am in Canada and my hubby is in Albania :( I will be taking 3-4 weeks off this summer but I am waiting on Rome to see WHEN I should take my vacation. I'd love to take him home with me without having to spend $$ to go pick him up in the fall. *sigh* I really hope it works out...

Thanks Tom. I am well. I guess I become paranoid when Can/Alb was refused. She was 10 years older than her husband. But I suppose in her case, his english wasn't very good and they claimed they didn't speak a common language. My husband and I both speak Italian so I hope that will help... And...

Thanks for the advice! No need for GCMS notes until later, if I am passed the normal processing times. If I see people who applied after me getting PPR, I will definitely look into it. I really really hope I can stay within the normal timelines and take him home with me in August!

Hi Niki, if you are past the usual timelines on the CIC website, I would call the CIC call centre in Canada. They will have answers for you :) Also you should join a March 2014 or April 2014 thread to see if other people who applied after you are getting AOR or SA before you.. Good luck!

Good question :) My husband is 7 years younger than me. We got engaged after 8 months and married after 13 months. I fear that they will question HIS intentions in marrying me. But I also have a lot of reason to believe they WON'T call us for an interview - my friends and family came to Italy...

I am sending new information. It doesn't hurt, especially if you are already at risk for an interview ( I am ) but a traceable envelope from Canada costs 65$ so I wouldn't do it more than once :)

Depends on the MP. Mine has gone above and beyond and checked on my application 3 times while it was in Mississauga due to an error they made. As for calling the VO, you should try to send emails and only if they don't respond to your emails (if urgent) should you ask your MP to intervene. But...

You might want to ask the Senior members of this Forum. There is a special form to fill out with your goods and they are all exempt from any duties or customs. But I think you have to bring them all at once. There should be another thread about this... Congrats and Welcome to Canada!
