The child would be Canadian yes, and would not have to be added to the application as a sponsored person but added as her child, that was born and living in Canada. Both my children were born in the US but were Canadian citizens by birth I had to include them on my application.

If the baby is not Canadian by birth then you can not use the visa that your wife has, you need to contact CIC and add the child to the existing application send in the paperwork they ask for and they will re-issue a visa that covers your wife and the child.

well the answer to that question would depend on whether you filed in-land or out-land... if you filed in-land no, you don't need to apply for an extension you would have implied status, if you filed out-land then, yes you need to extend your visitor visa. Good Luck!
