Is that for the RPRF money? Or what do you mean by "landing fees"?

Post doctoral researcher on fixed-term contract - ineligible job offer?

For example if you look at NOC 4011, which is mostly for University lecturers/professors, it has mostly teaching/supervising duties. Do you do that 90% of your time? If yes, good then 4011 is your NOC. If not (which I suspect because Postdocs work in research), you want to choose a NOC that...

Post doctoral researcher on fixed-term contract - ineligible job offer?

I also suggest you get a good template for your employment letter (you still have to provide proof that you were employed for the CEC qualifying period) and let UBC sign that in time. Also check if NOC 4011 is really a good fit. The NOC code should be chosen by SKILLS, not by JOB TITLE. There...

Post doctoral researcher on fixed-term contract - ineligible job offer?

Having applied as a Postdoc myself, out of experience a Postdoc contract is NOT a permanent job offer and yes, UBC will never give you such a permanent job offer.. The problem is that you have now been drawn out of the EE pool with more than 600 points I assume (?) so if you hand in your...

    June 2014 - CEC applications

@weijilu If I were you I would now do upfront medicals and submit the medical results ASAP to CIC. The fact that you received RPRF request shows that your eligibility assessment must be at least "recommend pass" now, otherwise they wouldn't request for RPRF. You can still inquire where your...

Waiting for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Hey folks, sorry if this is a stupid question: When I land with my CoPR and become a permanent resident, will Canada automatically mail my first PR card to my address in ECAS or do I have to physically send in the application package for the PR card that is on the CIC website? Thanks!

    June 2014 - CEC applications

The country is a VISA exempt country. Reason that they requested a PCC is because by mistake I had sent the certified copy of the PCC along with the certified translation and not the original PCC along with the certified translation with my my original application package. That's why they needed...

HELP NEED!!!!!Travel to USA with approved BOWP letter but without physical BOWP!

Yes I do have a visa exempt passport, you could be right and that is the reason why I've not been asked. I suppose the safest would be to not travel then, as you don't even have a TRV anymore..

HELP NEED!!!!!Travel to USA with approved BOWP letter but without physical BOWP!

I have never been asked upon checkin or boarding if I had a valid work permit. You could be a visitor too needing no Visa or anything, eg if you have a european passport. The airline doesn't care. ... You will be asked when you enter Canada by the officer and I suggest you bring your approval...

    June 2014 - CEC applications

I will definitely NOT do a second medical upfront, as I'm highly unwilling to fork out another $250 in addition to all the necessary costs that I already have because CIC is stalling my file (BOWP etc etc). I'm more interested if CIC would even issue the COPR when you only have a month for...

    June 2014 - CEC applications

Hey folks, what is your intake on the 1-year validity of our medical test. I had mine early february 2015, and some people even end of January 2015 (ASTRO.CA etc). If we don't receive COPR/landing papers before the end of 2015, will they make us repeat the medical? Or will they decide based on...
