No, we have not heard ANYTHING from the VO. I've just noticed a lot of other people from the Havana VO being asked for new police certificates, and I was wondering why they would need a new one (it would give me a sense of whether they will ask us for a new one). If they were issued more than...

    Havana, Cuba

Does anyone know what's going on with the Havana VO office requesting new police certificates? According to immigration, the only date factor is that "The certificate must be issued no more than three months before you apply." Is this why people have gotten the request for a new one? On the...

    JULY 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

Not sure. I think you still need a letter saying you have been approved. On the first question of IMM1344 did you check off to proceed with application? If so, then they send the application, regardless of whether you have been approved. It could be that they needed the complete application...

    JUNE 2014 OUTLAND applicants

I hear ya! but I figure we are not going to see anything until Jan/Feb at best. Based on other Havana applications, they saw "in progress" on average 154 days (5 months) after AOR. (I made a spreadsheet for myself to help me get a realistic expectation) If you got your AOR in August, it will...

    JULY 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

We are also having to do the Quebec application. The reason the lawyer did not say anything is that you need to be approved as a sponsor BEFORE you can even move forward with the Quebec portion. (the sponsor approval letter is part of the application package for Quebec). My understanding is...

    JULY 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

Did you advise CIC when you got married? (change in marital status on application)? Your application should have had your spouse on it, that would make your spouse part of the family class. If your spouse was not on the application, then you can not sponsor under the family class. The same is...

    Havana,Cuba Visa Office 2013 Applicants

On your IMM008, what did you put as an answer to number 3? how many people are on the application? It sounds to me, the answer should be 1, because you are not including his daughter, because she is over 19 and does not qualify under this version of a family sponsorship. If for some reason...

    Havana,Cuba Visa Office 2013 Applicants

I'm not sure if a traffic record would make him inadmissible. If he was not charged or convicted, then I'm not sure how that can make him inadmissible; "Under Canada’s immigration law, if you have committed or been convicted of a crime, you may not be allowed into Canada. In other words, you...

I have only heard of one person for which that happened. Another person was told that they need to come back the following week because the person that does the visa's was not in that week. Have you decided if you are going for the interview?

Only draw back is that as of May 1, the police certs are 65CUC (I think). I know they are no longer free, so getting a new one every 5 months adds more money to the Cuban government pot! What a surprise.... not!

I thought as long as the police cert was issued 3 months before the application was received, that it would be ok. If not, I guess we will need another one too. The cert is dated May 9, 2014, and the app was received July 16, so I was thinking we would be ok. How are we supposed to have an...
