Canadian Citizen Stuck with her husband in Syria because of CIC

I believe the interview was positive, however we have another problem. After 2 years of court in Ukraine, we still don't have the proper papers from the court for my daughter. We have the decision declaring the father as "unable to be found" but we will have to return to court to apply for...

Canadian Citizen Stuck with her husband in Syria because of CIC

My wife and daughter are also refugees, IDP from Donetsk Region in Ukraine. I don't necessarily agree with the resettlement process that happened in late 2015 and early 2016. I think there was a lot done for the opportunity of "feel good" stories and photo ops. I read that many of those cases...

GCMS NOTES WELL EXPLAINED HAS NEVER BEFORE UNTIL NOW

Nyet. This is no joke. We have to go to interview this week. I'm confident in my wife's ability and I'm sure she will be fine. I have prepared her to the best of my ability. I would like to know why we are going to interview, but it's becoming clear that I won't get the notes in time :(

GCMS NOTES WELL EXPLAINED HAS NEVER BEFORE UNTIL NOW

Yes, of course I do want to see the notes. In their email for the interview they wanted more communication proofs, which we are supplying, plus a number of other solid proofs of our relationship. I seriously doubt I will get the notes before Wednesday.

GCMS NOTES WELL EXPLAINED HAS NEVER BEFORE UNTIL NOW

Yeah it is quite annoying, I sent the request on the 27th, they got it on the 29th and they emailed today. It is quite a joke, I'm sure I filled it in properly. I filled it in the way other people here have done it. I needed the notes, my wife has her interview this week. However, I'm sure we...

Thank you htquach, I wish you the best of luck in a few weeks as well!! We are submitting more recent pictures, as my wife visited Canada twice in 2016. So we have a number of photos from the 12 weeks she was here. We are including a number of other proofs as well.

Spousal Sponsorship Interview Questionaires, Experience, Preparations

Yes, thank you for the link. It was excellent information. My wife has her interview this week. I believe that she is well prepared. She knows me very well and I sent her a lot of evidence to take with her. So hopefully everything will be fine. I'll let you all know what happens.

GCMS NOTES WELL EXPLAINED HAS NEVER BEFORE UNTIL NOW

This is ridiculous! The government really does not want to provide me the GCMS notes which by law I am entitled to. I just got an email stating the form we filled out was done incorrectly. I filled out Section A with my information and signed it. My wife filled out Section B with her...

GCMS NOTES WELL EXPLAINED HAS NEVER BEFORE UNTIL NOW

That's actually pretty good. I've (and other family members) sent stuff and it could be two weeks at best or up to two and a half months.

    Medical exam

We are going through Kyiv VO, which is 10 months average right now. In my opinion whatever you can get completed before CIC asks for it, you should do. It will prevent delays in the long run. I'm Canadian too, I didn't need to do any medical tests. If that was your question.

    Medical exam

We did ours upfront as well, but we waited until just before we knew we were ready to apply. It was about 12,000 UAH / $700 CAD for the medical for my wife and daughter so we wanted to ensure we got the maximum lifespan out of the medical. When I was able to access ECAS it was there on the PA side.

    COst of medical exam?

The medical for my wife and daughter was about 12,000 UAH which at the time was approximately $700 CAD. There are only two offices in Ukraine so there isn't much of an option to shop around.

Question on Statement in lieu of non-impediment to marriage abroad

I got mine in Kyiv, Ukraine at the Canadian Embassy. It wasn't hard to get at all. Then we took it to a local translation and notary service and had it translated. I can't recall what exactly it said, but I'm pretty sure it didn't have my address on it. And I was never married before so there...
