@ trisah sorry i have no idea w/spouse but he might get open work permit based on your permit. When i had an interview for LCP at seattle in 2007, the IO was willing to give my spouse permit eventhough we were separated i dont know its bcoz i had kids here in Canada told him he would not come.

Being unemployed wont affect your application. You already completed 24mons requirement and applied for OWP,PR. After your current work permit expires youll be on " implied status" just remember your MSP will expire as same moms of your work permit can extend 3- 6mons depending on province.

@ lholie i live in Vancouver and decieded not to work until i get OWP. If you look for employment around here and need someone to look after your baby i can give you a few mons of my time.^^

@ Iholie i dont think maternity leave would affect the processing of OWP anyway you completed 24 mons requirement and applied OWP, PR before the maternity leave^^ where do you live in BC?.

I dont understand why all Apr applicants w/dependants still not getting OWP yet as im a June applicant no hope at all.
