You could check directly at http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx in Italy physicians are available in Roma and Milano. :) Everyone without exceptions are required to have a medical exam, so called up front medical report.

I am not an expert but as mega_option101 said they require the original with sponsored person's signature. I wouldn't risk it sending a scanned or faxed document.

Re: What does financial support exactly means? No one wants a long distant relationship but often the time proves if the relationship is really genuine, especially after a short love affair. You really underestimate CIC. This is no joke but sure it's your life. You are not very convincing...

It's very unlikely to get a visitor visa. Unless you get your PR before the actual birth but as scylla said CIC won't speed up the process because of a pregnancy. Sorry but the reality sucks.

I was asked for a consent and a birth certificate on my way back to Canada. They might ask, they may not, but it's always good to be prepared.
