Haha, "Friggin'" is my go-to word of frustration! I'm going to take all this hot-mess energy right on down to the frozen yogurt place down the street. That will relieve some of the "Grr." :P

While this is an old bulletin, the facts are the same and can be found here: http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/english/Bulletin%202012-01_Romance%20Scam.html * In a short amount of time that you have known him, figures of money have already been mentioned. Including the amount of...

+1 for this. I am beyond frustrated as the PR card waiting time has now jumped to 80 days. How friggin' long does it take to look at a paper and then create a PR card? Honestly, what do they do all day? On another note, I hope everyone is having a safe and fun long weekend!

I think it's important to understand that any relationship can be a relationship wherein one or both parties can be taken advantage of financially and emotionally - yes, this includes relationships that begin between two Canadians. However, all everyone here is trying to say is to be careful...

    PR Card & SIN Numbers?

He does have an OWP now and his original WP expired while we were halfway through the process, so he was on implied status until we received the OWP he applied for with the PR application. So he is still working but under an expired SIN with the OWP - which I'm surprised hasn't been an issue...

Congrats! You should have it next week then! We're not too far from the CIC office in Sydney, NS where they process the cards so I'm hoping that after I get a hold of an agent (still on hold) they'll be able to tell me something good too! EDIT: So apparently being the wife of the applicant as...

    PR Card & SIN Numbers?

:P It would be nice if they could just stick with one set of rules and stick to 'em, right? I figure that I shouldn't really complain, but it just sucks to hear that there are different rules depending on who you speak with. :/

This is not classified as a criminal offense and it would not bar an individual from sponsoring a spouse or partner.

    PR Card & SIN Numbers?

Thank you Rob_TO for the very quick reply! It's just so frustrating... I think I've just about resigned myself to waiting for the PR card. :/ We'll try another office, but at this point, we might as well just wait until the PR card gets here (we were told we'd probably only see it around June...

    PR Card & SIN Numbers?

Guys, I'm a little confused... my husband's SIN expired before he became a PR on March 12, 2014. We were told by our interviewing agent the same day as our interview that he could go right to the Service Canada booth in a local mall and get his SIN renewed (with a more permanent one). The guy...

Congrats Maxlet! The same thing happened to us, except we were really early for our appointment and ended up standing in the line with the people who were waiting to take the citizenship test. :P Oops! Guys, I'm a little confused... my husband's SIN expired before he became a PR. We were told...

I can't comment on the doctors but if your husband applied for an OWP and sent it in with the PR application, it usually takes about a week. We didn't have to wait too long to see my husband's OWP in the mail after getting AIP.

I don't believe that your PR would be conditional then, seeing as how you'd been together for longer than two years. Either way, if you were able to provide proof that you'd been in a relationship before you were married, I don't see why you would have condition 51 on your PR. Here's the quote...

Our letter said the same thing and my husband already had applied for an OWP. It's the standard they send to everyone. Don't worry! :) Congratulations by the way! AIP & DM!

Which options did you dial through? Did you go through the PR card options? The guy I was speaking to on the phone the other day was no help at all, telling me that the delays were because there was a high volume of cards to process... and just kept repeating that in different words every time I...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Exactly my thoughts. The government is so obsessed with saving money by cutting jobs and now they're increasing the wait times for immigrants which they claim they need. Regardless, they should be processing cards from the date they are filed/arrive. How long can it take to make a friggin'...

So apparently 90 days is the wait time for PR cards with the allowance (2 weeks) for mailing with the wait time on the website as 76 days. This is just lovely. Ugh. Hubby and I will only see his PR card around June 10th. I just want to scream.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

Great news for the people waiting for PR cards! The wait time has increased to 76 days! Woo hoo! More waiting! If you couldn't detect it, my sarcasm is rampant today. This is ridiculous. It was 56 days when we sent our forms in, then 68, now 76. CIC needs to get on top of the problems they're...

CIC has this handy tool that you can look at that may clear up the questions you have: "Am I Canadian?" http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/Citizenship/rules/index.asp There's also a test here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/rules/tool_04.asp I hope this helps! However you are likely a...
