Makes sense. I'm guessing that if you at least have the receipt, you'd be able to somewhat plead your case to the agent lol. It seems rather popular and everyone seems to like it. Fingers crossed!!!

Going to be sending our application mid-November now. 'Cause we're paranoid that if we send the application by the end of November, by the time they open it, they won't count it for the spousal open work permit pilot ??? From what I've gathered, it usually takes them about 30 days to open the...

I have a question: On the forms, it says we need to provide an indication of status in Canada such as a visitor visa etc. But my husband comes from a visa exempt country-- will providing an explanation and a copy of his recent entry to Canada stamp be sufficient enough?

?? This is what it says on the top of the form: "Complete ALL names in English and in your native language." I just assume we write the names in English and then their names in Japanese on the same sheet.

His English level is rather good so he was able to fill out the applications in English! I bugged him to make sure there is no time gaps in his residence/statuses ;)

Apparently, for Japanese citizens, a police certificate isn't required immediately until there is a request from the CIC. But for the inland application, it says that it should be included... Trying to cover all the bases. ???

He is not a citizen or green card holder in America (He was just on student visa status) so we weren't able to use a Channeler since they only do that for American citizens/green card holders :( So we had to go directly to the FBI. I just hope it won't take too long to process.

Hopefully they do not! But I have attached the copy and receipt from the Japanese Consulate of Canada stating that it will take 8-10 weeks to process the certificate and have it received by the applicant. I'm not too sure about the FBI one-- we didn't see any forms that allows us for it be...

I'll just be sending in the application along with the copies and receipt that we have requested for the Police Certificate and wait until they arrive to forward it to the CIC since they do expire 6 months after issuance.

I am also thinking of applying him for a visitor's extension just in case after a couple of months. He is from an a visa-exempt country so he's able to at least stay for 6 months.

Thank you for the reply! Is there any one else who have submitted their inland application without the police certificates? I included copies/receipt that we have sent for them to the Consulate of Japan and the FBI (My husband is Japanese citizen) and included an explanation along with the...
