    please help

It's assumed that getting the father's signature isn't an option, since he's been out of their lives for 5 years. If she can get the father's signature, that's definitely the best option; if not, she's going to need legal proof of full custody.

    spouse outland...thoughts guys

No, I don't think that counts. In my case, I got my husband (sponsor) to get a letter of employment from his boss, stating his income. I think that was it, but you should still read through the guide first, then come back and ask any questions you may still have.

I don't know what EI is.

    spouse outland...thoughts guys

You should go through the guide, it'll tell you everything you need to submit. For spousal sponsorship, there is no income requirement, though it may be an issue if the sponsor receives government assistance, such as welfare.

Here's hoping! That information puts me at ease, and may explain why tigermilo hasn't received his DM yet either. Good luck to everyone going into April!

**NOVEMBER 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS**

Same. My BGC went in process March 15. I thought that maybe my officer updated it late, and I'd be getting DM within 2 weeks, like most. Now I'm beginning to think I'll be waiting another 2-4 weeks for DM ??? I'm considering ordering GCMS notes, but I just received correspondence from Ottawa 2...

Can I sponsor my brother over 18

Hi guys, I have a somewhat similar question. I want to sponsor my younger (half) brother. I believe his parents lost their rights to him, but I'm not too sure. Does that make any difference? He lives with our aunt now, under legal guardianship. He is 15 now, but I would like him to move to...

    MARCH 2017 *OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANT*

Yes, because that's related to the PA application. They started reviewing my eligibility before I got my SA email. Plus, it's common that it takes a while for it to update. For example, background check won't change to "Complete" until the COPR is sent out, usually.

    MARCH 2017 *OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANT*

That's common, typically MyCIC will not update for anything related to the sponsorship application, it shows updates to the PA application. Even then, it's not that reliable.

JANUARY 2017 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

The sponsor receives any correspondence relating to the sponsorship application, the PA receives correspondence relating to the PR application. My husband (sponsor) got emails for AOR1 and SA, and I (PA) got an email asking to clarify one of the forms, and will (hopefully) soon receive the PPR...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

You're correct. The only reason I could see Inland as being a better option is if you want to make sure she gets the OWP within 4 months, or if your application is complex and will likely take longer than the typical 4-6 months. I agree, you should apply Outland. It'll be a much smoother and...

JANUARY 2017 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

If you still haven't received your SA, I would try to call/email them, or submit a Case Specific Enquiry. It's been over 40 days, so there could've been a glitch or something that kept them from updating your file.

We included a letter from his mom, but didn't get it notarized. Same with the letter from his employer.

JANUARY 2017 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

They started processing your sponsorship application, or PR application? On your sponsorship form, did you check the box that said to continue processing if sponsor is not approved, or the box that said to NOT continue processing and refund the money? If you chose to not continue processing...

Thanks, that sounds like a good idea. We won't be moving too many things, so I'll probably make a spreadsheet as we're packing things anyway.

**OCTOBER 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS**

I read this the other day: http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Goods_To_Follow#Procedure It specifically states you don't have to complete the form BSF186, the officers do that. Is that true? If so, is it better to complete it anyway? Is it long/difficult?
