Nope! You are still legal! My visa expired in sept last year (I still have a valid study study permit). I am still here! The only thing is you need to have a visa if you plan to travel outside the country and want to re-enter canada. They won't allow you just based on the permit!

I had initially applied by myself and then added my spouse in early April (got married in January). I guess my file will be delayed due to addition of my spouse! Lets hope everyone gets MR soon!
