    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

I sincerely hope that stopping all outland processing for 3 months isn't the only thing responsible for actual processing on the inland side. Even since the Holidays, inland processing is dismal at best. In the 2.5 months since the Holidays we've only had about a month of progress. That's still...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Originally I was just a little curious that the last large processing event (over a week processed for a week elapsed) was at exactly this time last year. I'm a little disappointed that they've given up again, especially since we didn't benefit from any of the heavy processing that was...

He should be replaced immediately. He's either doing a terrible job or the system is so broken it needs to be rebuilt again from the ground up.

Looking over the graphs, it appears that next week we will again be again seeing the new longest processing time for AIP. Two weeks ago it was 527, and we dropped to 520 last week, but we're up to 524 again today. I thought it'd be interesting to look at where we were one year ago today. March...

I'd say his response was weak, lazy, and stupid. Although the truth would be that they're too lazy to try and fix the problem, so I doubt anyone would want to hear that either.

Looks like my optimism was not merited. CiC has gone back to processing 3 days per week.

I know this has been asked before, but has anyone who applied for an OWP *after* the pilot program was announced received an OWP or any indication that their application was received? I'm just curious as to how this process is supposed to pan out.

    Importing Vehicle Questions

Call Geico or even ESurance. If you are a "visitor" in Canada, which is what you are until you get PR you can get coverage from a US company. Call all around, getting coverage from a US company will be much much cheaper than paying taxes on the car *and* having to pay outrageously high Canadian...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

It was a good show. Thank you for contributing to awareness. I like how it was specifically brought up that people applying Inland *are* in Canada legitimately. The general public is astonishingly ignorant of that fact. I also like how it was mentioned that people aren't discouraged from...

Right, get a different one. You'll be able to find someone willing to sell you coverage into Canada.

Get a different insurance provider. I'm sure someone will be willing to sell you something.

The call center has almost zero connection to the offices. You might as well be calling Pizza Hut to ask about your application. Having said that, I doubt the reverse is any different. The person processing your file has no idea about your calling center adventures. If it's more work for them...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

The fun thing about zero transparency and zero accountability is that the entire world could be told that CIC is a terribly decrepit process, running on clay tablets and hammers, and it doesn't matter. Their meal ticket is already printed and never expires.

Same here, I don't think I'll hear anything back. Just being honest.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

The impossible has happened. CIC came back from their year-long vacation and decided to process some AIPs! For the first time in over a year they have processed more than a week of applications in a week's time! 14 days in one week, or processing 2 days per day elapsed, hopefully this isn't a...

My favorite part is where the former CIC manager basically confirms that: The call center is useless. There is no transparency. What they do should not take more than 6 months. They simply don't care to improve.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Oh man, I wish. Unfortunately we'll have to wait for October, November, and December 2013 to happen first. Those 3 months will probably take 6 to 9 months for the CIC to get through.

US Citizen Spouse Living in Canada, Filing Taxes

I went through the process of filing my wife's taxes with the IRS. She had almost no income at all except for the early disbursement from the retirement plan she was registered with before moving to Canada. So, she's been in Canada for the entire 2014 tax year, and we filed her federal and...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2015

Someone needs to edit the CIC application online instructions and insert: 1. Apply outland *unless* : (list) 2. Send an OWP with application, even if it it appears you aren't able to, as the rules will likely change by the time your app is processed.
