    Shifting large amount of money

I beileve you have to be a resident of Canada for 183 days before any of your assets (foreign or otheriwse) are taxable. Once you become a resident (for tax purposes) then you must declare all foreign income and property...failing to do so could lead to heavy penalties.

    Departure order from canada

If you complied with CIC's departure order then by now you may be eligible to apply for a work permit. However, if CIC determines that you entered the U.S. illegally either by your own addmission or through shared information with relevant American authorities then I doubt you'll ever be allowed...

No big deal...just a big inconvenience. As long as your marriage is legitimate I don't think you need to worry. Two quick questions...when CIC requested your passport what was the subject line of the email? And when does your work permit expire? Thanks

March - April PNP PR Batch :)

Hi Tina, Interesting article...yes, CIC makes mistakes all the time. I think they're overwhelmed. Also, CIC errors work both ways...I know two applicants to the PNP who received PR even though they didn't meet even the most basic criteria. I was shocked when I learned these people got their...

March - April PNP PR Batch :)

Sorry, "guaranteed" is a strong word - perhaps I misspoke. I just meant to say that CIC wouldn't bother to reassess medicals if other items were still pending. It would be a waste of time and money to reassess medicals if the applicant could still be rejected for other reasons. I'm fairly...

On the bright side...medical re-assessments are only asked for once everything else has been cleared. In other words, you're basically guaranteed PR as long as your medical reassessment is fine. "Note: The decision to grant a reassessment is at the discretion of a medical officer or a...

Hi Tina, Sorry to hear about your WP situation. A few quick questions... 1) Are you currently on a BOWP? (if not...) 2) Did you apply for a BOWP within four months of the expiry of your current WP? I'm trying to figure out why you'd be rejected for a WP. If all else fails apply for a...
