Yes he has to give you a consent, because it's his file. The form is on the link I gave you. I e-mailed it to my hubby, he signed it and sent a scanned copy back to me.

Hi rks, there is no harm in requesting GCMS notes; just make sure you select to receive the electronic file. Only a Canadain citizen can do this request so you will have to send a consent to your spouse and request it on your behalf. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

Hi Newpal, Can you just make a booking with the travel agent? I know that everyone was doing this, so the agency would hold it for you for 2 weeks so you don't actually have to pay until you are certain you have the visa. Also, I believe the agency can also give you the travel insurance required.

It could be that they just didn't update your ecas. When did Vienna receive the application?

It has been showing "in process" since January, but as the status, so when you click on "in process" it shows the 3 lines I posted earlier, nothing else.

Unfotunatelly all the new visa application centres (VACs) that opened are just for accepting applications...they make sure everything is in order and they forward them to Vienna for decision. This is what they do: Visa application centres (VACs) accept applications for study permits, work...

thanks Europe, we are checking the e-mail every day, but nothing yet. The miltary booklet was sent in 6 months ago...so we have to wait for the background checks to complete. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Hi CAIPS notes are now known as GCMS notes; the cost is $5.00. here is the link with all the info: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-personal.asp It takes about 3-4 weeks to receive them.
