No kidding... there was also one asking whether the couple went to any events together, especially weddings if they were married in marriage season... Huh?? We didn't go to any weddings because no one we knew got married after we did, but we did go to two funerals. A lot of these questions seem...

I received AOR from Mexico after they did an initial review of our file two weeks after they received it from Mississauga. They sent request for the police certificate as well. According to my GCMS notes it took them a little less than a month from the time they forwarded the paperwork for the...

Criminal checks started in late August, right before they sent me AOR and request for criminal record checks, but they haven't updated the "Criminality: In Progress" section since then even though they say later in their notes that they have received both my RCMP fingerprint police certificate...

Apparently I spoke too soon - got my GCMS notes in my e-mail inbox a few hours after posting this. Day 30 would have been Saturday so I suppose they are technically on time. From what I can tell, the VO received my PGR in December but criminal and security checks are both still in progress. My...

Nothing yet for us... I think we share a similar timeline - you applied in May of 2014 right? It's been 10 months for us already, but two months were wasted because of lost mail, and the VO had to get my PGR for me with the fingerprints I sent them, which tacked on another month or two. I...

Her husband is from Costa Rica and has never lived in Mexico, so he doesn't need one. Applications from people from many countries in Latin America are being processed in the Mexico City VO these days...

Yeah, it only took them 2 days and a half to respond! ;D Now I'm just waiting for GCMS notes.

Geez I'm so sorry to hear you're going through all of that!! And I agree, don't rely on ECAS for the Mexico City VO. I remember someone else on this thread said her husband had "Application received" on his ECAS all the time, even after he got his COPR.

    Mexico

No it doesn't. They only post whether they received the medicals on ECAS but they don't post anything to do with police checks. Maybe you're right - it took Mississauga nearly 3 months to give us SA (processing time was ~2 months then) and it happened shortly after our lawyer sent an enquiry...

I sent an enquiry to the Mexico City VO a few days ago. After sending them my fingerprints in late October for them to get my PGR, we had heard nothing. I got a response from them this morning - apparently my application is just sitting there waiting to be reviewed. So frustrating, I thought...

Didn't you say an officer actually called your spouse about two weeks ago and specifically requested new medicals? I don't think you have to wait for an official letter or IMM file to go get it - shouldn't you be able to do it just like the upfront medicals you submitted with your initial...

Ok, so I wrote the following e-mail to their inquiry e-mail address and I received confirmation of receipt of that e-mail as soon as I sent it. To whom it may concern, In late October of 2014, my representative sent your office two sets of fingerprints required to obtain a Mexican Federal...

Thanks OhCanadiana! The Mexico VO has been pretty good about responding to my lawyer's e-mails - would you suggest e-mailing the VO directly instead of going through the case specific enquiry process? One of my surnames (mom's maiden surname) is pretty uncommon, so it's weird that someone...

So an update on our case: In late August (almost September) of 2014, we received AOR from the Mexico City VO as well as a document request for an RCMP certificate (I've been living in Canada for many years so this makes sense) and my PGR. Since I am living in Canada with my wife, I had our...

What do they mean by AWB?

*sigh* So after a lot of digging around, I finally found out why the visa office asked for the tracking number. My lawyer sent the originals of my fingerprints and my photos in a separate shipment than my RCMP certificate (this was mailed after my fingerprints). When she sent my RCMP...

What do they mean by AWB?

I had my lawyer send in a couple of documents about a month ago in response to a request for documents. The Mexico City VO sent me the following e-mail with no attachments this morning: Dear XXXXXXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXX XXXXXXX, This refers to your application for Permanent Residence in...

    MAY 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Congratulations to all who have received PPR and COPR these past few days! About a month and a half ago I received a request for documents along with AOR2 from the Mexico City VO. They asked me to submit my Mexican police certificate (for those not in the know, Mexicans cannot send the Mexican...

Dual citizenship, what office it goes to? or change to inland?

The processing times posted online for the Mexico City visa office are misleading. We applied outland through Mexico City and I got a letter from the Mexico City visa office stating that their current average processing time is 6 months from the date Mississauga receives the application, not the...
