Health card for New Immigrant (OHIP) for Ontario

They already know she doesn't have OHIP...I was in Human Resources and both Human Resources and myself spoke directly to them about what she is and is not entitled to. I explained everything in detail as to where we are in the Immigration Process.

Health card for New Immigrant (OHIP) for Ontario

My wife arrived from Germany on Dec 1 2014, I had already advised my work and benefit provider about our situation. She has no OHIP at this time, but she is still covered under my benefits from work, but not able to use the Travel insurance part of it because she does not have OHIP. Everything...

    Illegal residency in canada?

Also if you resided in Canada for a period of greater than 6 months, I believe for whatever reason and you tell CIC this...you will have to do an RCMP criminal record check. My wife was asked to do this because she was in Canada for 8 mths on a work and travel visa in 2010.

Shipping belongings to Canada from home country?

One of our big concerns is whether the shipping costs outweigh the need to ship. Her personal items such as clothing, chinaware, books and DVDs...along with an antique china cabinet her mother passed on to her are most important to her. The furniture is nice also, but right now not needed and...

Hello everyone, have a quick question to those of you who have shipped your belongings from your home country to Canada? My wife is coming to visit with me in Canada on Dec 1st for 6 months, while we wait for her PR. She has placed all her items in storage for now and will ship her things here...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

I have two #'s for the CIC helpline. One is a toll free # and one is long distance. I called the long distance one because I have unlimited Canada calling on my phone, so it doesn't cost me any extra. 1-613-944-4000 is the long distance (to me) # 1-888-242-2100 is the toll free # Both take a...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

I gave them my name, home address, email address and DOB. I told them I did not have a client ID yet, but did have my Receipt for payment. The agent on the helpline looked up my file with just that info and she told me they have my file. Very strange that a few hours after I called, my SA was...

    AUGUST 2014 OUTLAND Applicants

Hey guys, I applied July 29th to CIC Mississauga and I never heard anything until Oct. 7th. I got frustrated waiting and called the CIC helpline on the morning of the 7th and they said the application was there but has not been processed yet, they said it could take another 2-3 weeks. This was...

    JULY 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

Thanks...knowing our file is at least accepted and now being processed is a huge weight lifted. Knowing my wife will be with me for a while in Canada this year is also a great feeling. Waiting together is much easier than waiting apart...it's been a long 4 1/2 years traveling back and forth.

    JULY 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

Great news everyone...after calling CIC helpline this morning to find out if they even have my file, I just received my First Stage approval via email. My wife's file has been forwarded to Vienna VO. What a relief to finally get a starting point.

    JULY 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

Just got off the phone with CIC helpline and they at least confirmed that they have my file. She said that it is not being processed as of yet, and could take another couple weeks for first stage. I guess if I were to find the positive, it would be that they at the very least have my file. haha

    JULY 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

Yes, I am the sponsor...my wife in Germany is coming to visit in Dec for a while, but I am hoping to at least have some good news to tell her in the meantime. I think I am also way past due, especially after what I seen today on First Stage approval times. I am calling the (helpless) line...

    JULY 2014 OUTLAND APPLICATIONS!

Thanks...usually I'm pretty patient with most things, but not so much this past week, especially after seeing the timeline they are working on now. Just crazy that there really is no access to CIC beyond the help line, unless you get a reply from them via letter or email. Oh well, thanks again...
