john5655, Thank you! I had read that link. At the very place it has instructions on where to obtain State PCCs. Then at my state's website, you have an option of doing the check online. My question is regarding that part as it is easier for me to do it by credit card for I am not in the States now.

The state in the US I lived in 6 years ago for longer than 6 months offers online criminial record checks by charging your credid card. Will such a report (which is a print out of the text on the screen) be accepted by the CIC? Thanks!

Sorry, I have taken IELTS two times but they were both the normal paper based one. I think the computer based is only the Academic version which is no good for Canada immigration.
