You can send passports through IOM, it's around 5850 din. per passport. Fedex and DHL also do the returning, I know other people used that service.

I'm also shocked (positively of course). Though, our friends before us also sent passports the same way and also got them in a week time. Or maybe you're right, postman drinks Red bull every morning before going to work ;D

I'm well aware of all possible issues and I won't sleep until we get passports back but, for us, at this moment, it was the only option. ;) I agree that going in person is the safest option.

you really do have many questions :D 2500din. is 20eur. for snail mail there are no charges, VO is not charity organization but I don't know any company or organization charging their clients for sending them regular mail? my friend also sent passports this way, returned in one week time.

thanks strangersr :) I think I'll use courier for sending (I have some good deal) and snail mail for return. Our friends done that way and it was ok. Unfortunately, going to Vienna is not an option now.
