    Gatca, I found that Australia has a "Police Liason Office" here in HK one floor above their consulate. Did you go through them or did it application for police check online, or did you actually mail them in Australia?

    My application was sent back in November '11, Sponsorship approved by May 10, '12, Application to HK Consulate May 15. Then a letter from the them asking for my intent to return to Canada, wife's medical and police report. Then nothing until Aug 31 when my status changed to "in progress"...

    Fencesitter, It was an actual mail. I'm living in Hong Kong, so it wasn't as bad as it is in Vancouver. Letter was dated Sept 4 and we received it yesterday, Sept 7th.

    FS, thanks for the information. However, we did receive a letter from the visa office for additional information back in May '12. So go figure. I guess it's different for everybody.

    Our timing is pretty close to gifkins, we submitted our application in Nov '11 as well, and just received "in process" on August 31. So, hopefully, we can get confirmation soon!

    whoot!!! ROFL! Just saw a change in the status. It's "In Progress". They started in August 31. I hope this is good news! Amazing how a change in status makes us all feel!!! And of course, this means that we now start to do the checking the website twice a day rather than once a day...
