TRV = Temp resident visa. If she already has a visitor visa then why do you need to apply again for that. Are you talking about visa extension?

@ steaky, I was talking about regular TRV and not Supervisa.

For Canadian TRV overseas medical insurance is not a compulsion, however it shows prudence on part of the visitor. Also I think it gives some assurance to the Canadian govt. regarding applicant not being a burden on tax payers or inviter incase of a medical emergency.

Thanks for your response. Regarding purpose of visit, I don't think there is enough space in the form to include proper details regarding reason for visit. Also I am planning to include travel itinerary as well with it to give some more weight to the application.

I think spouse visa cases might be taking longer. I am applying end of this week with tickets booked for Dec 22, 2015. Hoping to get response by then.

As per CIC website, its 70 DAYS (I think that means weekends included) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/visitors.asp But that's only for 80% cases, if yours is taking longer, don't worry. As you applied on 29th July, in my opinion you will hear a good news by mid October.

@Zeeshan, If you applied on July 27th, I think you should be expecting a response sometime in October. I will be applying for my visa from Karachi office end of this week, and have tickets booked for end of December, hopefully the visa will come till then.
