Hello everyone,

I am little confused here. Please help me understand how many total letters with be included in my TRV application.

1. Invitation letter from my host
2. Cover letter (what should be in it) and should it be separate for me and my mom.
3. Purpose of visit letter (the application form doesn't require separate letter or explanation), do I need to include one?

Thank you, would appreciate help from forum.

Jessica.

I have no idea why you need a cover letter and purpose of visit letter. Just explain the purpose of visit in the invitation letter.

In fact you don't need any... but they are good in some cases and may include as many as needed.

If they are inviting you then yes, this is needed.

Uh? Cover letter? No such thing.

Maybe you are confused with "Explanation letter". This letter is included if you need to explain something that is not obvious or that you feel will cause confusion. Not needed if your case is solid.

Uh? No such thing.

The purpose of visit should be obvious as you will be including reservations, copy of air tickets, itinerary etc. If your purpose of visit is not obvious then the purpose of visit is usually included in the Letter of Explanation. It is rare that a separate document is needed.

Keep in mind that the more you are explaining usually means that your case is difficult and confusing (hence all the explanation you are doing), this is a bad sign, good solid applications are obvious and easy to analyze.

If you need to write any, then keep it short, concise and impersonal. CIC isn't interested in the story of your life neither needs your "word" on anything that is not appropriately backed up with clear documents.

Thanks for your response.

Regarding purpose of visit, I don't think there is enough space in the form to include proper details regarding reason for visit. Also I am planning to include travel itinerary as well with it to give some more weight to the application.

It's just the same. The itinerary in itself does not show the purpose of travel. There are no much space left in the form to include the details of the purpose of travel. Therefore, the invitation letter will have to explain the purpose of this traveling.
