For all those who have recently applied for TRV from Pakistan, how many days has it taken on average to receive CIC response.

Is it really 72 days as mentioned on their website.

I applied for Canada visit visa from Karachi, Pakistan on Sep 09, 2015. My application was paper based. The visa office told me that it will take around 45 days for the outcome. I have booked tickets for Nov 01, 2015. so lets see how it goes.

That's around 70 days. Did you check the status of the application of logged a Case Specific enquiry on CIC website?

72 days is for 80% of the applications, that means 1 out of 5 will go above that timeframe.

I would give CIC at least 50% of tolerance (that is 110 days more or less)

I am planning on applying for visitor visa for my spouse. Is applying online an option for residents of Pakistan? If yes, then at what stage of the application would she have to send in her passport? (while applying, biometrics or at the end)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am not sure if everyone from ant country can make TRV on line.you can fill up questionaire on line and see if u qualify to apply on line for your spouse TRV.if you are eligible to make an on line application,u will be asked to send your passport at later stage.hope it answers your question waseem7777

Thanks for your responses guys.
CIC website does show me that I can apply online after I complete the eligibility. But I just wanted to double check with someone who has applied online for visitor visa in Pakistan.
Thanks again!

2. Invitation letter from my brother and the original university letter mentioning our names for attending the convocation.
3. All the required forms for the visa.
4. A detailed itinerary mentioning the costs of the trip and other expenses.
5. Current Employment Letter & Leave approval ( Me and my wife both are working)
6. Salary slips for last six months
7. Bank statements for last 12 months.
8. Income tax returns for last 2 years.

I applied for my wife through VFS in lahore. Her application was received on July 27th. According to the website it takes 72 days, we are almost close to 72 days. According to High Comission in Islamabad her application in under process but when I called CIC they said if application is received by May 30th, then its taking 110 days for application process to complete.
I am thinking its gonna take these guys atleast 72 if not around 100 days to process her application. I had to cancel her original flight which was for September 18th. I hope if anyone had gotten a ticket, its a refundable ticket.

@Zeeshan,

If you applied on July 27th, I think you should be expecting a response sometime in October.

I will be applying for my visa from Karachi office end of this week, and have tickets booked for end of December, hopefully the visa will come till then.

@Jessica
Was it a refundable ticket that you bought? I hope you get the visa by then, but gotta watch out for the worst case scenario too.
