Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

And then the COPR is the document that has the date for when my wife needs to arrive in Canada by, correct?

So, turns out my SA confirmation was sent out in July 2013 ... to where, I dunno. Call the CIC and the dude confirmed I've been approved (yippee) He said it was sent to my email address but I never got it. Must have been eaten by the Interwebs. Now the question is ... when's the next step gonna...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Just got off the phone with CIC call center. My SA confirmation was apparently sent out in July 2012. How it didn't find its way to me, I have no idea. At any rate, that problem has been solved. Now the question is, how long til they request the passport?

What a pain in the @$$. Manila definitely has it because I wrote to them about a week ago asking for an update and they responded with the bit about it being in a queue for review. I sent my CRC there as well so I hope (damn well) that it's in Manila (lol). Calling CIC ... you mean call the...

Good to hear that it went well! Skype interviews are the new trend. Hoping I'll get one too (as soon as I know what the hell our application timeline is). Did you get my private message?

Contacting CIC by phone from outside Canada

It might have worked at one point but doesn't seem to anymore. I hit one for English and then 2 (like you said) for humanitarian services but then it just rings, there's no further options after that. :(

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Thanks for the info Bart. I'm definitely going to try calling, just to try to get something out of someone, somewhere. I'd just like to know where the damn thing is, that's all. I know that in the last email that was sent from Manila, they did say that our application was in a queue for our...

Contacting CIC by phone from outside Canada

I've read in a couple different places that this is possible. That there is a number that can be called aside from the Call Center number (which is only for applicants inside Canada). I've seen: 1-613-944-4000 Has anybody tried this and had success?

So I've been emailing back and forth with my MP's office and they've basically encouraged me not to file a complaint saying that if I wanted to I could but it likely wouldn't do any good and that it would be best to do so after the finalization of the application. Seriously.

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Some people have been encouraging me to call CIC but I only know of the number for applications that are being made from inside Canada. Is there another number that people have called to file a formal complaint or to find out what the eff is going on?

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

That's the other part that worries me. Usually they're only good for 3 or 6 months. Mine didn't have an expiry date on it, at least not that I saw that I checked over it pretty thoroughly.

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

I don't think that's it. I've emailed back and forth with Manila and so has my MP's office. The answer we get is just that the application is in a queue waiting for the background and criminality checks to be reviewed but that's what they've been saying for almost 2 months. I was stupid and...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

RCMP CRC wasn't listed as part of the required documents for sponsor when I originally started the process but after we submitted everything, the Seoul embassy sent us a list of documents by email that they wanted us to provide and included in it was my fingerprints and CRC (no I don't have a...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Skype interviews are generally more informal than real interviews in person. One thing you'll definitely want to do is make sure that where you're doing the interview is quiet. If you can, go into a room that is totally separate with a window for natural light, lock the door. You can wear...

ANYONE ELSE APPLYING FOR PR FROM KOREA?

I had to get my fingerprints done for some reason. I haven't heard of any other sponsors needing to get their prints done.

Any number for CIC that isn't the call center(?) (or is that the number you're talking about?) as they only deal with applications from inside Canada. Or a link to the contact info? Did you just ask for the unit manager's name CJG or did they just offer it to you?

I've been in touch with my MP's office since my CRC process because that was taking forever. As soon as the MP's office got involved, the RCMP busted their ass to get it done and sent it straight to the Seoul embassy (which didn't do me much good but it was a nice gesture). Since then, the...

The thing that got me the most and you might not believe this, nobody we tell does ... I went personally to the Seoul embassy on Friday, January 25th to fill out an information request form because they weren't answering emails or the online contact form. I filled out the form, gave it to the...
