Welcome to the world of infuriating bureaucratic incompetence. I hope that you had some choice words for them when you wrote them back. I have.

Working under the table in different city then common law sponsor

Stop insulting my intelligence. Were you expecting a pat on the back and/or sympathetic words? You are coming across as a self-indulgent, spoiled brat. Do think paying a fine will absolve you of any wrongdoing? What you did was illegal and IS a serious crime. I might have had some sympathy if...

Working under the table in different city then common law sponsor

Reap what you sow. I don't mean to sound cruel, but you DIDN'T follow the conditions that are REQUIRED by CIC. If your application is allowed to proceed, it will be a slap in the face to every other couple who has applied and abided by the conditions set by CIC.

Intent of returning to Canada (sponsor)

I totally agree with you. My wife and I are exasperated beyond words. My wife quit her job as we thought our application would take about a year (CIC stated nine (9) months for visa processing for Manila when Manila received our application). Two months later, processing time increased to 14...

Intent of returning to Canada (sponsor)

Maybe I can help. I had the same issue as your husband. I am a Canadian citizen by birth. I went to Japan in 2005 to work and live exclusively as a translator. I married my Japanese wife in May 2009 after dating for 1.5 years. When we applied for her PR in October 2012, I mentioned our plans to...

Help! My sponsored husband has a warrant to go to Border Services

I agree. Getting pregnant at this stage is not advisable. If your husband is deported, you will be under extreme stress. Having a baby in this sort of situation will only add more stress to an already complicated PR application.

    Instead of Option C printout..

When putting my wife's application together in 2012, I didn't include an Option C. In lieu of an Option C, I included pay vouchers (stubs) that totaled one (1) calendar year. Since they were in Japanese, I translated them myself and made a note that stated why I didn't include an Option C. I...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Nine months was the time stated when we applied in 2012. It jumped to 14 months a little while later (two months later). There was a strike by VOs that occurred between April and September 2013 (more or less). During this time, no spousal visas, or very few, were being worked on. Finally...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

14 months is the time it takes to process 80% of applications. Some are processed faster, some slower. My wife's application is "currently queued for finalization review." We applied in October 2012, so we are around the 14 month mark. We expect that her COPR will arrive soon. The only...

    Help with GCMS Notes

Hello. My wife and I are at the stage where we want to get a copy of my wife's GCMS notes. However, I have some questions about how to order them. Under the Act & Record Selection, 1) What Act should we select? Access to Information Act? The Privacy Act? 2) What type of file should we select...

Manila Tread for English Speakers - join here!

Hi Scosan, My wife and I moved back to Canada on December 4, 2013. On December 3, we received a re-med request from Manila. I had a family member book a re-med with a panel physician in Edmonton for December 14. I informed Manila that we are now in Canada, and all correspondence in regards to...

Manila Tread for English Speakers - join here!

Scosan, We have talked before on another thread. We are almost in the same boat. My Japanese wife and I have been waiting for about 14 months. Can I ask what your age difference is? My wife is older by 7.5 years (wife:45, I: 37). I have been wondering if this might be a concern since we...

Thanks! We put our photos in two smaller envelopes. We also divided out application into three parts/envelopes: 1)Sponsor envelope, 2)Applicant envelope, 3)Envelope with supporting information/photos. It is really up to you. I was originally going to make a word document with our pictures with...
