I would do the class, it shows them your eager to learn french or strenghten your french even if it says you don't need to if your are francophone. If they are asking to enter your reference number, it means they are tracking it. I think this can only help your file/situation.

They can't choose not to process christians files, that would be a violation of the chartered of rights and freedom and discrimination of religion. So I don't think this is the case at all. It comes down to having a conservative governement running the immigration department in Canada...

There's actually lots of jobs in Canada...unfortunately most of these jobs are lower paying ones, such as minimum wage. If you look at who occupy these positions, it's about 80% immigrants. So if anything, Canada should be moving faster to fill these jobs by immigrants. I'm not saying immigrants...

I hate being the bearer of bad news...but the MP's office contacted me as they heard back from Beirut VO. The officer there told her that my fiance's application will be processed next August...(applied to federal May 6, 2010)...She did say that he can still receive his medical within this time...

I would think that there would be less of a backlog in Beirut, since they are only processing Lebanese and Syrian applicants. But I guess...everyone wants to leave out of these countries so they are swamped. :D

I'm sure you will hear something soon as they have restarted processing applications. Be glad you had your medicals done!...some of us have been waiting 27 plus months!!

I just came back from a meeting with my local MP's office and they told me multiple emails/contact from the applicant can delay the file because the CIC people get frustrated and do it on purpose to not process your file. So I suggest you pick and choose when you email them as this may delay...

Wow 6 months!! Well hopefully they are working on all files and not giving priority to certain files because some of us have been waiting almost 3 years for this whole process!!

I heard Beirut is giving priority of Syrian applicants because of the unrest in Syria while Lebanese applicants are being put on hold...is this true???

Really??? But I guess the delay is due to the Damascus VO closing down and reorganization of the Beirut VO. Things should move faster from now on...or at least that's what I keep telling myself so I don't go completly crazy!!!
