I don't know. I didn't do anything beyond sending them emails to inquire about my CSQ which had expired (I got it in 2009). They didn't even reply to my inquiries, they just called about the meds after a while.

I just came back from a meeting with my local MP's office and they told me multiple emails/contact from the applicant can delay the file because the CIC people get frustrated and do it on purpose to not process your file. So I suggest you pick and choose when you email them as this may delay your files.

I'm sure you will hear something soon as they have restarted processing applications. Be glad you had your medicals done!...some of us have been waiting 27 plus months!!

i hope so, it has been 6 month now. On january 2012 they called me before they close the canadian embassy in damascus, it was my luck cause she told me that if i didn't call you, your file would have been transfered to beirut embassy and no one knows how much time it will take. all people who did not receive their medicals requests before february 2012 should wait some time now cause there is a huge load of work at the canadian embassy in beirut.

Hey Wkassir, welcome to our thread. did you apply for the federal part in April 2009? my friend applied in july and got his visa in Dec 2010 :/

Thats what I was telling them.
There were some issuses, everything was late,

people who are waiting medicals 27+ months

People who are waiting interviews, as me 23 months and many others

I would think that there would be less of a backlog in Beirut, since they are only processing Lebanese and Syrian applicants. But I guess...everyone wants to leave out of these countries so they are swamped.

I heard this rumour too...but it could just be a rumour...who did you hear it from?
