Advice needed:your landing experience crossing the border from Mtl to the U.S

Thanks Canuck_in_uk for your reply. So if I understand well, my partner could be denied entry to the US, for the sole reason he asked to flagpole (he doesn't have any redflags), but then he would be given an "Administrative Refusal" that we could give right away to the Canadian border officer...

Advice needed:your landing experience crossing the border from Mtl to the U.S

Hi Guys! My partner (from Chile) got his COPR recently, and the expiry date is very close, March 3rd. We already live in Canada. We might flagpole this week-end, but we are a bit nervous because of this "fear" caused by the recent U.S immigration ban and its consequences. Also, we heard one...

    Little Typo On COPR

Hi Guys, My partner just received his COPR, but there is a little mistake on it. For the "Last date of entry" (in Canada) it shows 2015-08-10 instead of 2015-10-08 (Oct 8th 2015). The rest of the info is complete and accurate. In your experience, do you think he still can land with that paper...

    Mexico

My partner, the Sponsored, got a call from the Embassy in Mexico. The officer wanted to know if we got the email they sent and asked if we could send them the papers/photos within 10 days. They said they had to speed up the process due to the medicals expiring in the beginning of March.

Hi! No news here... Background check is In Progress since August 30th. Sent requested RCMP police check mid-September, was declared lost by the post recently. :( Sending back a updated police check by express mail this week. We sent an electronic version in the end of September, but I think...

APRIL 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I think so, just make sure they do the whole process electronically for fast processing. Ask to the officer before proceeding.

APRIL 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hi Proksd! My partner, who is the PA, got the same request for the RCMP check (Mexico VO). Some say that the agencies are offering a faster service, but my partner went to the local police and got his certificate in the mail in about 3 business days. The local police was charging a bit...

Yeah, learning it the hard way...Thought that just a tracking number would be ok. Did not know about the mail in Mexico being so slow. We will use one of these providers for anything we might have to send from now on.

Hi CanaHn! Yes I guess the process was kind of fast because Chile is a visa-exempt country. Maybe things will move faster when Mexico becomes visa-exempt in a couple of weeks. About the mail, well, can't do much. We have a tracking number, but the last info we know is that it is in Mexico...

    Mexico

Hi! I know that the waiting is frustrating. That said, I think the processing timeline of every application depends on how straightforward or not a case might be, if documents are required on the way, etc. I'm not sure Mexico VO is slower than others. For example, our case is very...

Hi, thanks for your answer. I did all what you mentioned. Our document has arrived in Mexico, last checkpoint. Since sept. 17 it is the same info, after that, no more details. I called Post Canada and the clerk told me they cannot do anything (open investigation) before 6 weeks of delay...

MAY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hi Taniam, thats good news! It really depends on each individual situation...in our case it has been in progress for a month, but they requested us a document that seems to be stuck somewhere in the mail and has been taking time to arrive to the embassy...

    Mexico

Hi all! I wanted to have some insight regarding Mexico's mail... We sent the RCMP fingerprints document by registered mail from Montreal to the embassy in Mexico. Post Canada mentions an average of 3 to 7 business days for delivery...it has been a bit more than 3 weeks now and the tracking...

When landed, but no PR card yet, can one still travel by air without problem?

If a landed PR needs to travel out and back to Canada by air but doesn't have his PR card yet, is it a problem? I've researched this forum and someone said: ''If you are visa exempt, you can come back to Canada without a PR card if you have your landing papers'' Is this still valid? Thanks a...
