Work permit is same whether it is open(e.g. dependent, pgwp etc.) or closed(sponsored by company) one. You are good to go with your current open work permit as long as you meet CEC requirements. You need to provide the supporting documentation that you meet the requirements of CEC. Regards.

PCC should be submitted to CIC within 3 months of issued date and is valid till 1 year after submission. In case the submitted PCC is expired then CIC will request the applicant for new one.
