When did you get your approval mail and passport ?

It just takes two days from the day you receive the passport dispatch email.

When did you find out that your passport was dispatched ? Friday or Saturday ? Do they make these updates on weekends too ?

Thanks for your input, scylla. How is this taxable? Could you please shed more light on that since I'll be paid from outside Canada? And I forgot to add that, payments for the work done will have to be sent to my Canadian account. Is this also permitted ?

Don't be so sure. Many applicants have gotten approval mails the day they receive their passport. And some get a hard copy of the approval letter with their passport enclosed in envelope at VFS. Some don't even get it at all

Make sure to check your JUNK/SPAM folder too.

A reference letter and personal resume should suffice.

This is completely strange. Looks like they approved your VIsa application. Wait for the passport to be delivered today.

VFS has got nothing to do with your Visa Application. Mailing them is a complete waste of time. Why mail them when you can call them ? Your only bet is to mail the Embassy.

Don't be bothered about it. Some people do not get the approval mail until after passport collection.. sometimes days after collection.

It's valid for the duration you state in your application.

You do not always need one but you could write one with something that could strongly back up your application. It's more like a statement of purpose. What your plans are and stuff

They need additional documents then.

You meant he got message on 19th April ? He'll only get to find out when he has his passport in hands. Don't worry about the approval mail. Sometimes you get it the next day and sometimes even after you get the visa on your passport.

It means that a decision has been made and you'll only know this when your passport is delivered. You'll get a call from VFS or an sms as to when your passport is ready for pickup.
