Yes, it helps. I sent additional documents including the CBSA report, as well as tax returns and letter from employer. I had my citizenship application approved with no issues, despite lots of travel. It doesnt make it go any faster though.

Follow the calculator. If the calculator says you are not eligible, then you are not eligible. If you try to apply without the calculator's approval, then you'll be in for a very long and cumbersome application process.

Citizenship cards no longer exist and have been phased out. You will get a citizenship certificate which will be the document you use to apply for your passport.

I sent extra documentation and got my citizenship in 7 months. It's all case by case basis. Don't submit too much but submit concrete evidence that helps if you think you would have issues. Pay stubs, employment letter, mortgage/rent docs, all prove residence in Canada.
