I am quite upset with the strictures on the dimensions of the photo in the PR card. After getting my Skilled worker immigration cleared, I submitted photos as per specs. No smiling, correct size etc. We landed on Dec 29th and are irritated to learn now that " new photos will have to be taken"...

As someone recently arrived, I fully agree. Toronto is flooded with Indian goods and let me tell NOTHING, repeat nothing in terms of food and condiments will be missed from India. Savor the Canadian stuff instead!!

Dear All, Landed on 29th at Pearson Int'l and successfully finished al basics (SIN, Driver License,Bank Account). Will have an OHIP application soon since needs a Proof of address for all. This includes basic documents like a Mailed Bank account statement/House Lease etc. which all family...

Any latest comment on the state of the Canadian economy and how this may link to our collective future as immigrants? What about survival jobs in early 2011, for instance?

Hi Charlotte, Great posts as always. Glad to see you ARE settling in, kinks and bumps excluded ;D btw how is Hydro and Electricity different?! I realize 'Hydro' stands for electric power in Canada - but some apartments advertise utilities as "water, heat and hydro" as (either included/excluded)
