I think you need to inform in that case. As far as the 6 months absence is considered, if you stay for more than 183 days outside canada, you are considered as a Non Resident Canadian. Hence you cannot stay for that much time. However, if you stay out for less than that time, it shall be fine.

I do not think that shall matter too much. But why do you need to inform them that you (the sponsor - I assume) are travelling back to meet your spouse? I (the sponsor) actually have went back to meet my wife and we spent quite some time together. Do you think I should also inform CIC/NDVO...

Flying trans-atlantic (via Europe) would be longer for Vancouver, but you do get some good flight options. I would strongly recommend NOT to travel KLM (or Air France). They are the worst to fly with. Trust me, I have had 2 very bad experiences with them. I travel quite frequently and i had 8...

Wow! Thanks for sharing this. This gives an idea about the kind of backlog the Visa processing officers are facing. The numbers are baffling! :o Here's my understanding from the numbers: - There are more than half a million (580k) applicants worldwide, awaiting a decision about their PR! -...

I would suggest that you try calling CIC helpline from within Canada to inquire. If a date has been assigned to you, they might be able to provide you with the details like the date of interview. The call centre folks have been nice to me whenever I have called them. I believe an MP inquiry...

I can't understand, why the Medicals information is not updated on eCas for some people. We actually had 'medicals received' since the time we received the eCAS access. I am wondering if I have a reason to cheer here? :P

In my opinion, the safe answer would be stating the law. Inform that you (technically your sponsor) will make an appeal to IAD (Immigration Appeal Immigration) of the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB).

This is amazing... The forum has a different level of energy with so many people receiving the good news. :) Congratulations to all the folks who are about to get reunited with their loved ones... Finally, looks like the NDVO folks are getting back to work on our applications!

Thanks for the info... The wait is really bad. I wish Canada had an equivalent of K-3 Visa in the US where the spouse can apply for a non-immigrant visa while his/her spouse sponsored immigration application is in process. :(

I was wondering whether I shall apply for GCMS notes or request an MP inquiry. Can someone advise me on the same: Can someone tell what information does either of them provide? Does it help in speeding up the application process? Also, is it too early for us to apply for GCMS notes or for MP...

Finally, after repeated emails and requests, the NDVO replied back that they have received my wife's passport safely (it was submitted in November) and they have attached the passport to our application. I hate the fact that they sit on the passport for months, barring the applicant to travel...

    NEW DELHI - 2013 APPLICANTS.

Hello All, I am just curious to know if NDVO acknowledges the receipt of passport. My wife sent her passport to NDVO in first week of November and have not heard anything about it. We are worried if they have received the Passport safe and in good condition. I am sure all must have gone...

Thanks Myrah. we will send the copies of police certificate, payment receipt and of course the letter, along with a cover letter and passports. The letter from NDVO does not say anything about medical certificate. The eCAS says medicals received. Do you think we shall still send a copy of...

    NEW DELHI - 2013 APPLICANTS.

Hi All, I am a september applicant and we got passport request (PPR) from NDVO earlier this week. I got 2 questions related to that: 1) Along with the passport, the letter asked us to submit landing fee and Police clearance certificates, if not already submitted. We had submitted the police...
