You need to be in Canada for 3 years out of 5. That technically means you have 2 years to move permanently after landing. You should be fine with your plans. Do not worry.

I do not think so. What if somebody is having this application processed while he/she is in India? Also, if they need it, I am sure they would mention it when they request the passport but so far I have not seen anybody mentioning that.

Yes, you all should be. Your new I-797's should have the updated I-94. Be sure to carry it along and DO NOT hand it over when exiting the country. On your way back, you can use those I-94's to come back. It was painless for my family but feel free send me a message if you need any advise. Regards

I am also in the same boat, except my medical was done in August and I received the initial assessment letter with no further docs required letter in December. Hopefully, we will hear good news in a couple of months. Keeping fingers crossed with all faith in almighty. Happy new year and best...
