as i also mentioned, getting a always on broadband connection in India is still expensive and not very reliable in most parts. so the cell to cell plans suit me the most. Also in case either of us travel we don't have to worry about having a good internet connectivity

The current waiting time at CPCM is 38 days for spousal sponsorship approval. they will not send u any letter before that and its highly unlikely that e-cas will be updated

Magic jack is good, but still it doesn't beat the convenience of talking on phone snuggled up in your bed. Plus for India, not all places have high speed internet, so the call quality comes to be really bad.

well allmost all of the calling cards available currently are VOIP based. thats why they offer so low rates. which VOIP provider do you use.

the website is unlimitedindiacalling dot ca They have a list of plans which they offer. I'm not sure they offer similar plans for other countries.

i have a plan that's 30$ per month and lets me call 15 mobile numbers in India for unlimited time. pretty good if you spend a lot of time on phone.

Yes. In case the e-cas is updated somehow before you are approved, you might be able to use your client-id/recipt number to see your file number

Tracking number i believe. CIC doesn't send out letters
